Manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers

Division 29 covers the manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers. Its groups are motor vehicles (29.1), bodies, trailers and semi-trailers (29.2) and parts and accessories (29.3). Latvia has no large car assembly; the work is mostly trailers, coachwork and components, much of it for export. A handful of larger exporters earn most of the turnover, alongside a long tail of small workshops with thin margins.
