Forestry and logging

Division 02 covers forestry and logging. It has four groups: silviculture and other forestry activities (02.1), logging (02.2), gathering of non-wood forest products (02.3) and support services for forestry (02.4). Latvia is heavily forested, so the sector matters and a large share of timber is exported. A few large forestry companies work alongside many small logging contractors.
