Human health and social work activities

Section R brings together human health and social care. It has three divisions: health services (86), residential care (87), and social work without accommodation (88). Much is provided by the state and municipalities, but the private sector is larger here than in education or public administration — especially medical, dental and diagnostic practices. Companies tend to have salaried staff and equipment, so they are larger than in most service sectors.
