Real estate activities

Section M covers real estate activities. It has a single division (68), split three ways: dealing in own property and developing building projects (68.1), renting and managing own or leased property (68.2), and acting as an agent on a contract or fee basis (68.3). The sector is capital-heavy — companies hold a lot of property on their balance sheets, but turnover and profit are small relative to assets. Most firms are small and often hold a single property.
