Manufacture of wearing apparel

Division 14 covers the manufacture of wearing apparel — knitted apparel (14.1), other apparel and accessories (14.2) and knitted articles (14.3). In Latvia a large share is contract work — sewing for foreign brands, including workwear. The division is labour-intensive; a few large firms work alongside many small sewing shops, and margins are thin.
